About Me

Selene Regan has been around horses all her life. She began competing as a tiny tot, and continued to do so right the way through juniors. As a junior she show jumped affiliated up to JA level, winning among others things the west of England Junior Championship and qualifying for second round Christies (junior show jumper of the year competition).

For several years she spent her spare time working with Fergus Graham at his stud and training yard in Devon before moving to Hampshire and starting to produce her own horses. Working there provided an enormous breadth of experience in dealing with different and sometimes challenging horses.

Selene now works freelance schooling horses for people and supporting the rider to be able to continue this work. This can range from just helping work to develop the partnership and improve a horses flatwork skills, to when horse and rider have met a bit of a brick wall or developed a specific problem and need some help working through it together.

Selene's approach is built around working with the horse to develop its suppleness and elasticity, as well as working towards achieving self carriage and lightness off the leg. She looks to develop strong muscle tone in a horse by working in a soft contact with active forward moving paces from a horse engaging its quarters well.

Selene believes in a varied work routine for a horse to provide a variety of ways to engage with the horse and invite them to learn willing, and enjoy their work.
